Its broad sensing field delivers a big, solid five-string sound while keeping the low end tight and complex playing clearly defined.

Warm, full low mids give the pickup plenty of body, while strong transients preserve attack and definition. Its rawer upper-frequency character adds useful grind and cut, making it a great choice when you want a substantial bass sound that can still find its place in a mix.

The shielded 4-conductor cable gives you useful switching flexibility beyond the full humbucking voice. Wire the coils in parallel and the MC 5 AL shifts toward a brighter, cleaner high-end response that works especially well for clean funk, chords and tapping.

CONSTRUCTION & WIRING

Model: MC 5 AL

Instrument: 5 String Bass

Pickup Type: Dual Coil Humbucker

Coils: Two XL-Size Coils

Magnets / Pole Pieces: 10 Individual AlNiCo V Pole Pieces

Wiring: Shielded 4-Conductor Cable

Country of Manufacture: Germany

Colors: Black or White

Included: Pickup Screw Tubing and Black Screws

Switching: The 4-conductor cable provides access to the individual coils for alternate wiring configurations.

Series: Full dual-coil humbucking response.

Parallel: Brighter, cleaner response suited to clean funk, chords and tapping.

View Delano 4-Conductor Wiring Diagram

DIMENSIONS

Housing Length: 105 mm / 4.13"

Overall Length Including Mounting Tabs: 117.5 mm / 4.63"

Width: 48.5 mm / 1.91"

Housing Depth: 16.2 mm / 0.64"

Overall Depth: 18.5 mm / 0.73"

Corner Radius: 3.2 mm / 0.13"

The MC 5 AL uses Delano's longer MC 5-string housing.
