This company is top notch, can answer questions about any product they sell, they give honest assessment when it comes to product comparison.
Had the pleasure of working with Fat Bass tone once again. Love dealing with them not because of the product but because of the customer service they provide. Parts I can get anywhere but the level of service they provide is second to none. They help me pick the correct pickups for my bass and also helped with a preamp as well. This will be my one stop shop for all of my bass guitar needs. Thanks again Fat Bass Tone.
Despite the visuals, the pickups sound warm and articulate. It doesn't have the clanky sound commonly associated with ceramic magnets. The casing feels premium with no sharp edges.
I want to start by saying that I love the FE/M2 pickups and have installed them in three basses (all 4 string). Unfortunately, these pickups, which were specifically designed for the Fender American standard Jazz V bass, do not balance the string volume well. The G string is much louder than all the other strings (according to my ears and an VU meter) and if I drop the G side of the pickups the G gets quieter - along with the D. Since the pickups are potted in epoxy, I can’t adjust the pole pieces. I ended up going back to the original Fender noiseless pickups (one of the first iterations that are stacked) and grounding the pole pieces.
Most people would probably just compress the signal and never know; but, I am not one of those people.
All the reviews i read were dead one. Very easy to talk to and extremely Knowledgeable! Even gave me advice about a pre amp they don’t even sale!!!!! WOW!!!!!
