As one of the original boutique builders, Sadowsky took the classic, working-musician concepts that Fender introduced to the world with their legendary Precision and Jazz basses and elevated those designs into something truly extraordinary. A massive part of the legendary "Sadowsky Sound", that immediate, punchy, and glassy tone heard on thousands of records, is their proprietary onboard active preamp.

However, dropping five figures on a custom New York build is not always practical for the working musician. Furthermore, if you already own a bass that you absolutely love, but don’t want to modify, that is exactly where the Sadowsky SPB-2 pedal comes in. This compact pedal is the outboard version of their famous onboard circuit.

At the heart of the SPB-2 is a premium FET-based preamp design. Field Effect Transistors respond very similarly to vacuum tubes, which is exactly what gives this pedal its signature harmonic richness and warm, musical character. The control layout is intentionally simple and incredibly effective: you get an output level, a bass control, and a treble control.
