You simply replace your bass's lowest tuning machine with the Xtender, set your standard pitch (like E) with the lever closed, and then use the integrated fine-tuner to dial in your dropped pitch (like D or even C) with the lever open. The BT13 is a direct replacement for the stock tuning machine featured on modern MusicMan® basses, using a modern MusicMan® tuning machine design to provide the proper fit while maintaining the stock look of the instrument. Drop a Major 2nd (E-D), or as low as a 4th (E-B) with strings that have standard-thickness cores. Our BT13 option features a Y Key, Chrome finish, and Bass Side orientation.
The 3/8" model (diameter of stringpost) is designed to fit 9/16" headstock holes. This detuner can be paired with the Hipshot HB6Y Ultralight tuners.
The GB7 Xtender is intended for bass guitars with a 9/16" headstock bore hole. These are sealed tuning keys that are die-cast enclosed for permanent lubrication, durability, and long life. 20:1 Gear Ratio. Available in Black Finish. Fits many Ibanez, Yamaha, Epiphone, Peavey, Modulus, Schecter, Spector, Warwick and many other bass guitars.
