The Darkglass Alpha Omega Photon takes the Alpha·Omega distortion platform and builds an entire programmable bass rig around it. You get the ability to blend the punchy, defined Alpha circuit with the rawer Omega circuit, then combine that sound with compression, a programmable 6-band EQ, IR cabinet simulation, presets and extensive output and recording options.
For players who love the Alpha·Omega sound but want substantially more control than a traditional distortion pedal, the Photon can function as a pedalboard centerpiece, direct-to-PA rig, headphone practice setup or USB recording interface. Three presets are directly accessible from the footswitches, with three additional presets available through MIDI or the Darkglass Suite.
1. Alpha·Omega: The core Alpha·Omega distortion.
2. Alpha·Omega + GROWL: Alpha·Omega with the Growl function engaged.
3. Alpha·Omega + BITE: Alpha·Omega with the Bite function engaged.
4. Alpha·Omega + GROWL & BITE: Both voicing functions combined with the Alpha·Omega distortion.
5. Alpha·Omega Studio Rig + GROWL & BITE: The fifth available distortion mode with Growl and Bite.
The MOD control lets you select or blend the two core distortion circuits. Move toward Alpha for a punchier, tighter and more defined character, or toward Omega for a more raw and aggressive sound.
Compression: One-knob compression control with intelligent makeup gain.
Ratios: 4:1, 8:1, 12:1, 20:1 and ALL IN.
Graphic EQ: Six touch-sensitive programmable EQ sliders.
EQ Range: ±12dB per band.
Standard Bands: Low Shelf, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1.5kHz, 3kHz and High Shelf.
Alternate Bands via Darkglass Suite: 100Hz, 200Hz, 400Hz, 800Hz, 1.6kHz and 3.2kHz.
Cabinet Simulation: Impulse Response (IR) cabinet simulation.
IR Slots: 5 onboard slots.
Onboard Presets: A, B and C.
Additional Presets: Three additional presets available through MIDI or the Darkglass Suite.
Darkglass Suite: Manage presets, assign IRs, access deeper settings and update the pedal.
The Alpha Omega Photon can go considerably further than a conventional distortion pedal. Its XLR direct output can feed a mixer or recording interface, while two balanced 1/4" outputs provide additional routing options for monitors, amplifiers and other gear.
USB-C turns the Photon into an audio interface capable of simultaneously recording processed and unprocessed instrument signals. The Aux input and Bluetooth connectivity provide media playback, while the dedicated headphone output supports headphones from 16–600 ohms.
The built-in five-octave chromatic tuner covers A0 through A#5, and Performance Lock can prevent accidental parameter changes during a performance.

The Alpha Omega Photon gives you the connections needed to serve as the center of a pedalboard, direct rig, headphone practice setup or recording system. Instrument and auxiliary inputs, dedicated headphone monitoring, stereo balanced outputs, MIDI and USB are all accessible from the rear panel.

The Alpha Omega Photon draws approximately 500mA. Use a regulated 9V DC center-negative power supply capable of supplying at least 500mA. Darkglass warns against higher-voltage or unregulated power supplies.
