DESCRIPTION

The Trilobyte is like having two Minnows in one unit, but with the addition of an effects loop with blend, A/B switching, headphone output, auxiliary input, and the same great-sounding DI that has made Trickfish a favorite among professional bass players. It has all the flexibility you'll need for virtually any musical situation you might encounter.

This expanded feature set makes the Trilobyte incredibly versatile. It's great if you double on keyboard bass, allowing you to seamlessly switch between instruments with matched levels and consistent tone shaping. It's also perfect if you take two basses to the gig. You can have completely different EQ settings for each instrument while maintaining the same high-quality signal path.

The effects loop with blend is particularly useful if you want to add effects pedals without them bogging down your signal, ensuring that your tone stays focused and punchy. Many effects can muddy up your low end or compromise your attack, but the Trilobyte's blend control allows you to add just the right amount of effect while preserving your fundamental bass tone. This parallel processing approach is essential for maintaining clarity and your low end.

The A/B switching functionality extends beyond just instrument switching, you can use it to create two completely different tonal setups. Maybe you want a deep, warm tone for verses and a more aggressive, cutting tone for choruses. Or perhaps you need different EQ settings for fingerstyle versus slap playing. The Trilobyte makes these transitions seamless and silent.

The headphone output and the auxiliary input makes the Trilobyte an excellent practice tool. You can plug in your phone or music player and practice along with tracks while monitoring through headphones, all while benefiting from the same professional-grade preamp circuitry that you'd use on stage or in the studio.

Like all Trickfish products, the Trilobyte maintains that signature transparent character with just a hint of polish. It enhances your natural tone rather than imposing its own character, making it suitable for any musical situation.

From Trickfish

The Trilobite is an extremely flexible, high quality dual channel preamplifier paired with routing options required for modern gig setups.

The Bullhead EQ section allows for a broad range of tone control including shelving EQ’s for the Bass and Treble controls and variable band pass EQ’s for the Lo Mid and Hi Mid.

A parallel and series effect loop, along with two direct outputs, make the Trilobite ideal for the stage or studio. Whether it’s in a pedalboard setup or standalone, you’ll have the most versatile setup possible no matter where you are.
