Sadowsky Blue Label bass strings are built for players who want fuller mids, a comfortable lower-tension feel, and plenty of response from their instrument.
Blue Label is Sadowsky's most comprehensive string family, and we stock a broad selection for 4-string and 5-string basses in Bright Nickel, Stainless Steel, and Stainless Steel Flatwound configurations.
Bright Nickel: Warmer and smoother under the fingers than stainless steel while retaining enough brightness to cut through a mix. A great all-around choice when you want clarity without the more aggressive top end of stainless.
Stainless Steel: The brightest and most aggressive Blue Label option. Choose stainless for maximum attack, articulation, and presence—especially for slap, funk, or a modern cutting bass tone.
Stainless Steel Flatwound: Sadowsky's re-engineered flatwound combines a true vintage sound and feel with improved tone, feel, and consistency. A strong, focused fundamental helps the bass sit naturally in the mix, making these a distinctly different option from the Blue Label roundwounds.
4 String 45-105: Available in Bright Nickel, Stainless Steel, or Stainless Steel Flatwound.
5 String Nickel Taperwound 40-125: A lighter 5-string set with a tapered .125 B string for players who prefer a more flexible feel.
5 String Nickel Taperwound 45-130: A medium-gauge 5-string set with a tapered .130 B string and the warmer, smoother character of Bright Nickel.
5 String Stainless Steel Taperwound 45-130: The same 45-130 gauge range with the brighter attack and more aggressive character of stainless steel.
5 String Stainless Steel Flatwound Taperwound 45-130: Sadowsky's premium flatwound option for 5-string bass, combining a tapered .130 B string with a vintage-inspired sound, smooth flatwound feel, and strong fundamental.
5 String Nickel Taperwound XL 45-130: Extra-long 35" scale version of the Bright Nickel 45-130 set for basses requiring additional winding length.
