DESCRIPTION

Fresh pickup foam is a simple way to restore proper support beneath your bass or guitar pickups. These rubber foam mounting pads sit underneath the pickup, providing cushioning and upward pressure against the pickup mounting screws to help keep the pickup at the desired height.

Each package includes two black rubber foam pads measuring 2.75" long by 0.58" wide, with peel-and-stick adhesive backing for installation. They're a practical replacement when your existing pickup foam has compressed, deteriorated or stopped providing adequate support.

Please note: Check your pickup cavity dimensions and the clearance beneath your pickup before ordering. Foam thickness and compression requirements vary by instrument, so universal compatibility is not guaranteed.

WHEN SHOULD YOU REPLACE YOUR PICKUP FOAM?

Pickup mounting foam helps support the pickup from underneath. Over time, foam can become permanently compressed, deteriorate or lose its ability to maintain upward pressure.

If your pickup no longer stays at the intended height, sits unevenly or has inadequate support beneath it, inspect the foam before assuming the pickup or mounting hardware is defective.

Foam that is still intact and provides adequate support does not need to be replaced simply because it is old.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I know if my bass pickup foam needs replacing?

Inspect the foam if your pickup sinks into its cavity, will not maintain its adjusted height or no longer has adequate support underneath. Permanently flattened, crumbling or damaged foam is a good reason to replace it.

Does pickup foam wear out over time?

Yes. Foam can gradually lose its ability to spring back after compression. How quickly this happens depends on the material, installation conditions and amount of compression.

Do I need to replace pickup foam every time I change pickups?

No. Existing foam can be reused if it is in good condition and provides adequate support for the replacement pickup. Replace it if it is damaged, excessively compressed or unsuitable for the new pickup's dimensions and mounting requirements.

Can worn pickup foam cause uneven pickup height?

Yes. If the foam is compressed unevenly or no longer supports the pickup properly, the pickup may tilt or fail to maintain its intended height. Mounting screws and other hardware should also be checked.

Will these foam pads fit every bass pickup?

Not necessarily. Each pad measures 2.75" long and 0.58" wide. Check the available space beneath your pickup and the required support height before ordering. Some instruments use springs, tubing or other mounting systems instead of foam.

How many foam pads are included?

Two individual black rubber foam pads are included in each package.
