DESCRIPTION

b-axis Jazz pickups series feature a new and unique fully encapsulated Alnico V exposed pole design, and yet they are still fully shielded like all our enclosed pickups. The cable is shielded as well. b-axis Jazz Bass¼ pickups are dual-inline hum-cancelling design for use in professional venues and studios. They are sweat-proof and won’t make nasty noises if you touch them.

b-axis pickups are super punchy and bright, but also warm. They have outstanding articulation, attack, and harmonic response. Musicians who play jazz, rock, country, gospel, and hip-hop are already finding their voice in b-axis pickups.

Available in balanced bridge and neck versions.

Typically, FenderÂź American Standard or Deluxe V Jazz BassÂź with a standard/original bridge will use the 19mm version.

FenderÂź American Standard or Deluxe V Jazz BassÂź with the upgraded/narrow bridge will use the 18mm version.

**With the above being said, PLEASE BE SURE to measure the string spacing at the bridge to ensure you order the correct version for your bass.

WHAT IS THE TONE OF THE BARTOLINI B-AXIS JAZZ BASSÂź PICKUPS?

These pickups sport a more percussive sound than most J bass pickups. They are bigger sounding, with a bridge pickup that has more output and is quite good sounding on its own. Sonically, quite special and unique.

Put on a good set of headphones and check out the audio demo below to hear it for yourself.

As always, keep in mind that these are generalizations. Your experience could be different depending on many factors.

Bartolini B axis J5 bass pickups

I watched a video by phenomenal gospel bassist Justin Raines, talking about these pickups, which he raved about. I ordered a set for my 80s circa Fender jazz 5 string and these pups absolutely transformed my bass into a dream jazz bass! The tone is even and warm with the perfect amount of mid scoop for slapping without losing presence. My tech wired them in parallel but added a concentric pot that, when pulled, throws the pups in series, which adds volume and beef without being active! In the 40+ years I'vr owned this bass, it's never sounded better! I'm a happy camper!

The B-axis pickups are awesome

First thing I noticed was how noise free and quiet these things are when they are solo'd. The next thing I noticed was that for being noiseless, these are very close to sounding like single coil j bass pickups, they are punchy, have a good mid range and tight low end. I have these in both a 4 string and 5 string J type basses. Highly recommend these pickups
