ah yes, that's it

these pickups went into a very cool 70s lawsuit Jazz bass, with 70s spacing - I've tried several sets of pickups in it but it never really did "the thing", probably because most of them were more 60s "Vintage voiced".

These 70s-voiced pickups did the trick and took me straight to Marcus Miller land. The covers are also matte and feel very luxe compared to some other brands. Give 'em a try!

DESCRIPTION

In order to capture the signature tone of the 70’s Jazz Bass® pickup, we went through a unique prototyping process – sampling and deconstructing several pickups spanning the era to discover what makes them so special. Utilizing both a unique wire size and winding pattern, these pickups are bright and articulate with a clear and punchy low-end perfect for rock, funk, and R&B styles.

Available as a calibrated neck and bridge pickup set, the AG 4J-70 pickups are direct replacements for Jazz Bass® style basses.

**Sorry international bassists, but US Dealers are not authorized to ship Aguilar pickups outside of the US. Please contact us if you are having trouble finding Aguilar products in your home country.

WHAT IS THE TONE OF THE AGUILAR 4J-70 BASS PICKUP SET?

Aguilar’s 70s Jazz Bass® pickup set offering has a tight low end than many players will appreciate . These are not as warm as 60s era pickup, but we shouldn’t expect that with 70s tone in mind. Plenty of presence and articulation that should help cut through in a mix without sounding overly-bright

Put on a good set of headphones and check out the audio demo below to hear it for yourself.

As always, keep in mind that these are generalizations. Your experience could be different depending on many factors.
