To create a pickup with that much vibe and feel, Aguilar studied the pickups from Dave Boonshoft’s (Aguilar President) personal 1963 and 64 Precision Basses®. The AG 4P-60 pickups use all the period-correct parts, including Heavy Formvar wire and Alnico V magnets. These pickups have just the right amount of mid-range “nose” to cut through a loud rock band and give all the deep support one would expect from a great 60’s P-Bass® pickup. The AG 4P-60 is direct replacement for Precision Bass® style basses.
Wire: Heavy Formvar, 42 gauge

This offering from Aguilar is intended to sound vintage-y and succeeds. The 4P-60 has a bit of a soft feel to it, a pleasant warm-ness. It sounds somewhat similar to the Nordstrand NP4V. Players looking for a vintage tone should find this pickup pretty satisfying.
Put on a good set of headphones and check out the audio demo below to hear it for yourself.
