Excellent service and prompt delivery. Keep it up fellas.
Extremely low noise and great tone, I highly recommend this preamp because it will most definitely bring your bass to life.
Excellent service , quick delivery of the correct product !!
Have a boutique neck-through bass guitar I bought a while back that played wonderfully, but was lacking in output with a very old, 2-band EQ and no-name pickups. The Bartolini Classics and 3 band pre-amp turned the bass into a beast. Installed in the guitar’s existing soapbar/4-hole EQ layout without problem. Looking at Barts again for another project. Very satisfied with this purchase!
First, the positive.....
Love the sound of the preamp, after installing it. A definite upgrade to the onboard preamp in my Fender P bass.
Now for the Huh?!
1 - Bartolini DOES NOT include knobs FOR ANY of the CONTROLS, EXCEPT the stackable Bass/Treble.
I was able to find push on plastic black knobs for the three controls ( $9 ) , but honestly, for the price I paid for the preamp, they could include three knobs. You've been warned.
2 - If you'll be installing this in a P bass, you'll need to add wire to at least two of the controls, in order for it to fit properly and without crimping or breaking any connections.
This could be solved by Bartolini by adding an additional 4" to each control in the preamp, and let the person installing it simply trim off any un-needed wire, which is what I had to do to get the preamp to install properly without issues.
NOTE: Though I'm NOT blaming Fat Bass Tone for these issues, adding a disclaimer to the listing regarding there being no knobs, and the possibility of needing additional wire to install the preamp, both seem in order.
Glad the preamp sounds good, Bobby! Thanks for your comments about the knobs and wire length. We'll pass this on to the folks at Bartolini.
