This hum-cancelling two-piece pickup brings big, punchy sound to Fender® Precision Bass®-style basses. The DiMarzio Model P® accurately reproduces the sound of your bass with added gain and solid tone.
DiMarzio Model P® pickups cut through the band without sacrificing bottom-end power. Gutsy mid-range provides growl when the bass is pushed hard.
The Model P provides a heavy sound with midrange emphasis. Its aggressive sound is designed to cut through dense tracks and loud situations.

DiMarzio’s Model P is a Punchy and giant. Great sounding P pickup. Very responsive. Dynamic. Pretty much the ultimate rock and roll pickup for forward-sounding-get-in-front-of-the-guitars tone.

As always, keep in mind that these are generalizations. Your experience could be different depending on many factors.
If you like mids and a P bass tone that cuts through the mix, these are for you. Since it really focuses on the low mids to high mids and slightly dampens the treble, I wouldn’t use these with flatwounds. For that, you probably want a vintage correct pickup anyway. In comparison to the QPs, I think the Dimarzios might not seem as tubby just because the quarter pounders are more scooped, but the Dimarzios got plenty of balls and fill out a mix. The Model Ps are definitely ruder than the QPs. If you’re a roundwound string P bass guy, these are the one. They especially sound great with a pick and some gain.
put these in a p bass clone and compared them with mybass with the quaeter pounders and the duncans sounded louder and fatter
Thanks for your thoughts on these. The 1/4 pounders are indeed quite loud.
