The John East Uni-pre is amazing!!! This is the best onboard preamp I have ever put in a bass!

This preamp has every option you can imagine available, there is nothing it doesn’t have as a feature, you can literally shape your tone in anyway you can think of.

I installed this in a Lakland 55-OS Bass, it was a tight fit, but it did fit, without needing to modify anything.

I paired this with Bartolini American Humbucking dual coil MK5CBC soap bar pick ups, and it’s a great combination!

I promise you, you will not find a preamp on the market as versatile as this one.

I installed this preamp in a 1991 Modulus TBX 6. It is equipped with Bartolini P4 pickups and I was thinking about swapping them out as they didn’t seem that clear and present. However, before I did that, I decided to change the preamp that came with the pickups to the East Uni. I am really glad that I did. The sound of the bass has just opened up in a fantastic way. My reason for selecting the Uni was to get the active blend. It makes such a difference to buffer each pickup before they get combined. John’s designs are always fantastic and this is no exception. I have yet to dig into the internal options, so much versatility! Highly recommended.
