A tribute to the GK800RB amplifier served as a Back/Rear Mount option in a full preamp version.
The 800BMF preamp borrows the EQ section of the famous GK800RB amplifier and squeezes it into an onboard preamp, this time with a Contour switch for an increase in sound option.
This tone stack has some serious high-frequency power and a very deep bottom end, just like the amplifier it’s based on, allowing you to explore different tones directly from your instrument.
The Hi-mid and Treble controls are highly interactive; the same goes for the Lo-Mid and Bass controls and the overall sound is always very “cut through” and clear sounding.
The 800BMF has an Active Blend and Master Volume control, making this a fully featured preamp (not suitable for active/passive operation).
2 Pickup, 4 Knob: Volume w/ PushPull Contour Switch - Blend - Bass/Treble Stacked - HiMid/LoMid Stacked
Active Balance board: Active Blend Control + Master Volume
Treble: Boost and cut around 4khz
Hi-Mid: Boost and cut at around 1khz
Bass: Boost and cut at around 60Hz
Lo-Mid: Boost and cut at around 250Hz
Contour switch: EQ pre-shape (V)
A fantastic sounding preamp that really captures the GK sound. Having the two mid EQs in addition to the High/Low and contour switch gives you a lot of control over your tone without having to adjust a pedal on your board or the settings on your amp.
WOW! Straight forward easy installation. Was not really a fan of the stock preamp in the TM5 the highs were way too harsh and brittle. It's hard to find a bad setting with the 800BMF. With this EQ a little goes a long way.
This current setup with the coil select switch in place any tone is possible.

What a wonderful experience! Having custom made Delano pickups and a Lusithand preamp for my Sire Z7 took it from being ho hum to being a real winner. Couldn't have done this without the great folks at Fat Bass Tone!
