This pickup is the latest addition to Nordstrand's blade arsenal. With its thick steel blade, optimized wind, and ceramic magnets providing an authoritative low-end punch, the Power Blade will distribute a forcefield of fat slap fury that is tamed and guided by a super smooth top end. With half of its tonal DNA being derived from the classic P design, its character is inherently reminiscent of that hard-hitting P bass vigor we all love, only with a bit more girth in its low-end and translucent flow in its highs which works to facilitate the impressive character that is all its own. This P-style Big Blade split in half will satisfy any player looking for the power of a Big Blade without compromising the throaty fury of classic P tone.

Compared with vintage pickups, the Power Blade is more aggressive, especially in the lows and low mid range. No honky mid range in sight though, as the upper mid range is controlled. The low end is direct and punchy while still being warm, and has a slight bit of nice bloom. Darker low end than Nordstrand’s NP4, with a smooth or slightly rolled off top end that translates to warmth. Comparing to Duncan’s SPB-3 (also having the aim to be a more aggressive pickup), the ‘push’ is in the low mids compared to the SPB-3, where we hear it more in the upper mids.

I just completed a Fretless P Bass with a Nordstrand Power Blade 4 String Precision Bass® Pickup. I built this to sell, but I fell in love with it immediately. I could go on and on about the bass, but this pickup blows me away. I have used these pickups in other basses, but hearing it in a fretless is amazing. Deep, full, round, clear (not boomy at all) even tone. I love Nordstrand pickups. Originally I put an NP4V in it. I have the NP4V in other basses, love it and will continue building with it. As an experiment, I decided to try a Power Blade. This really makes the fretless shine! I'm keeping it installed, and now I want to hold onto this bass instead of selling it as intended. Nordstrand all the way....Power Blade in this bass brings it alive.
My P Bass Deluxe is 30 years old with the original preamp and pickups failing. I upgraded them to the Nordstrand P Bass Pickups and Agular preamp. What a difference!
The full punch was restored with an added boost. Our sound guy was amazed. It took time to reset my levels

First off these pickups are freaking amazing!! The bottom end is thumping and the mids and highs are all significantly improved! As you can see I play a Yamaha BB300. I’ve had it for over 30 years and she’s a beast and now with the Nordstrand power blades, get the f!*k outta here. I only use one pedal and that’s the MXR bass preamp and I’m running it through a Fender rumble.
Our band has been together less than a year and all of them love the tone I’m getting.

I was surprised by the clarity and balance of these pick-ups. Fairly powerful and Sound great. Very crisp highs when you dial in the treble and get a really nice bass as you lower the treble control. The blades give such an even volume from each string. These quickly became my favorites over a set of Bartolini 8S and Fender V-Mods. That's saying a lot. Very impressed with these Nordstrand Power Blades.
