While working on a used bass, purchased by a client, the client sent one of the Fat Bass Tone pre-wired passive harnesses (vol, blend, tone 2 pup) to upgrade to the electronics on the bass. When I received the package I was not expecting much as I wire this set up often, and it is rather simple. I was immediately impressed with the clean and well thought out work the harness possessed. I was happy to see the pots were the quality brand I normally use (Noble) and that all solder joints were very clean and uniform. Even the Orange Drop cap was what I use in most of my work. I was struck with the thought that with this quality level, and the price, it would be a huge time/cost saving measure, if I was to use these harnesses, rather than sourcing the pots, caps, wire, and the time spent, wiring harnesses myself. Wiring is not one of my favorite aspects of building, and the Fat Bass Tone harness certainly is up to the standard that I would expect in very high end instruments. So I have recently chosen to purchase my harnesses from FBT, to achieve the consistency in the electronics package, I want for my production basses.

I had been contemplating getting new pre amp for my warwick thumb bass BO4 for at least a year but was skittish cause I didn’t want to totally alter sound just wanted more mojo and fatter bass tone without losing Warwick sound . I called fat bass tone and spoke to Max . Not only did Max answer all me questions he gave detailed info on the whole process and not once did he try persuade or rush me to buy . When I plugged my bass into amp and started jammln I fell in love with the Aguilar OBP2 … what I was missing it gave it to me . Fat bass … great mids and very articulate .
