DESCRIPTION & TECH

The Delano JMVC4 FE/M2 pickups have reigned as one of our best-selling J-Bass pickups for quite some time, because they are the ultimate solution for the working Jazz Bass player.

Bassists absolutely love the fast feel and sleek look of their favorite J-Bass, but they constantly find themselves wishing it had just a little bit more punch and mid-range cut, while still keeping the snap and clarity they love. The JMVC4 perfectly solves this dilemma.

Delano engineered this pickup set utilizing a split-coil hum-canceling design. This means they are completely dead silent under any stage conditions. Whether you are playing under terrible bar lights, or tracking with heavy distortion in a recording studio, you will experience absolutely zero annoying 60-cycle hum. Despite this completely noiseless operation, they incredibly manage to retain all the top-end and snappy articulation of a true single-coil.

The JMVC4 pickups will transform your instrument into a completely quiet, significantly punchier, and bigger-sounding version of a traditional Jazz Bass

To put it simply, these pickups confidently stand with one foot firmly planted in aggressive modern fidelity, and the other foot deeply rooted in classic, vintage Jazz Bass territory. They are one of those incredibly rare, perfectly executed "Goldilocks" designs that bridge the gap flawlessly. And with their oversized pole pieces, they give your bass a distinct look.

If you are tired of dealing with noisy single coils or feeling like your bass lacks the necessary weight to confidently cut through a heavy live mix, these Delanos are the answer.

The gorgeous visual impact of their 9,5mm pole pieces is clearly audible: Ultra fast transient attack, powerful low end response, detailed midrange and brilliant highend for direct in-your-face, take no prisoners bass tone. Even the very bottom range of drop tuned basses will stay tight, focused and alive. JMVCs can handle massive tone tweaking and interact superbly with active circuits and effects.

Available with Black or White pickup covers.

Includes Pickup screw tubing and black screws.

WHAT IS THE TONE OF THE Delano JMVC4 FE/M2 BASS PICKUP?

The JMVC4 FE/M2 have become a very popular modern sounding J bass pickup. These pickups have a very full range, having an open top end and slightly forward low mid, where lows are strong but clear. These muscular pickups will be at home in any genre situation. Their clarity and presence will help stand out in a mix without sound bright.

Above and Beyond - excellent customer service, with Chips!

Not only was the shipping super fast, but the chips were an added plus. Didn't help my diet out much but that's beside the point. :-) The solderless passive wiring harness for my PJ bass was a super easy install, about 15 minutes top, including the time it took me to take out the previous wiring. No issues with fit. It works and sound great. So easy to just push the pickup wires in and tighten the screws from the harness - done!
And the Delano pickups, for some reason, are not easy to find. So glad they had them. The final kicker was to find out the owner of this company was my old friend from Portland, Maine who I used to play in a couple bands with. All around a great experience.

Great customer service

I have placed several orders and have had the pleasure of having a couple of conversations with Max. I never felt rushed and he was great to talk to. This is my go to for my bass parts.

Punchy and bright

Was wanting to purchase the Aguilar jazz bass hum cancelling pick ups, but not in stock. Not being patient instead ordered the Delano equivalent hum cancelling pick ups. Along with the FBT passive harness. This is for a new build and not an upgrade. Very please with the items I ordered and the open communication you get from FBT. Love the tone I get out of my first build jazz bass tribute. I will not be searching for anything needed anywhere else. 5 star company.

Marcus Miller upgrade

The old pickups in my mij Marcus Miller jazz bass were very glassy and lacked a little fullness, not to mention the noise associated with single coil pickups.
I have had great success with delano pickups in some of my previous builds, pbass and a musicman, so I decide to go with these…wow!
I have no regrets I have plenty of warmth, nice defined highs and no noise! With exception of my Dingwall D-Roc all my bass guitars have Delano pickups! Thanks to Fat Bass Tone!
