The John East Uni-Pre represents the UK manufacturer's most flexible, comprehensively designed onboard bass circuit. If you are the type of bass player who demands granular control over every aspect of your tone, this preamp is perfect for you. It allows for a deep level of customization, ensuring that you can make it do exactly what you need it to do for your specific instrument and gigging requirements.
The Uni-Pre gives you a unique, highly musical EQ curve right out of the box, but crucially, it allows you to switch it off so you can have a completely flat response. This allows the preamp to complement a wide variety of different bass styles and pickup configurations.
Furthermore, the sheer adaptability of this preamp is a standout feature. All of its critical EQ frequency points can be individually selected and fine-tuned via a series of precise internal dip switches. You are never stuck with a frequency that fights against your instrument's natural tone.
Despite its deep internal complexity, the external controls remain intuitive, allowing you to make quick, effective adjustments on the fly. If you are actively searching for one of the most flexible, highly customizable preamps available, take a look at the John East Uni-Pre. It is a professional-grade tool built for the bass player who wants total control over their sound.
