DESCRIPTION

Give your bass some ballz with one of the most powerful preamps available. With 16-18dB of boost/cut available, the Aguilar OBP3 can really add (or cut) a lot to any and all of the three frequency bands. Carefully chosen switchable mid frequencies (400 & 800Hz) allow you to be heard amongst your bandmates.

Our Aguilar OBP3 Bass Preamp Custom Kits include the components that you need to install this in your bass.

This kit includes:

  • Aguilar OBP-3 module
  • Potentiometers and switches (if applicable)
  • Stereo Jack
  • 2 Battery Clips

This kit does NOT include:

  • Pickups
  • Knobs

Black round switches included with configurations requiring switches.

Harnesses are professionally wired in the Fat Bass Tone shop.

All of our pre-wired harnesses are now wired using solderless connectors. This means that you should be able to install the harness without any soldering. A mini flathead screwdriver is included to allow you to screw down the terminals on to the necessary wires. Read more here.
(*If you are installing into a bass with a barrel jack, you may need to solder a couple connections) or grab one of our prewired barrel jacks)

We offer the custom kits kits in both pre-wired and non-prewired. These customs kits go a step further than the standard Aguilar kits and provide more of the components needed. Pre-wiring delivers you a preamp that is almost to the finish line, just the final couple connections and installation into the bass is all you need to do.

Impressive preamp

Previously, I have used a Bass Metaphors pre/direct box to get that extra ooomph. I installed the OBP-3 and it really makes a difference in the bass. i like the extra range on the EQ section and the preamp has a good sound, as well. I was a little worried about the signal being too hot, and the OBP not having a trim pot, but that isn't an issue at all, even at 18V. Currently i have this pre installed in a tradition neck thru (ash) using the Og factory soap bars, Vol, Blend, Mid, B/T, Mfs, APfs.

Installed into my Ibanez SR1605. An excellent pairing with the Aguilar DCB humbuckers! Plenty of headroom with the 18v option.
