DESCRIPTION

Classic Bass soapbars make you sound better, so you play better. They have a rich, deep voice with lots of high-end clarity and warmth. When you dig in, they are responsive and growly. When you pull back, they are clear and sweet. And they’ll take any slapping and popping you want to give them. The Classic Bass series is popular with progressive, jazz, gospel, and metal musicians where articulation is critical. Without sacrificing low-end, Classic Bass pickups are sweat-proof and won’t crackle and thud when you touch them or hit them with the strings.

If you play a wide variety of music, you know you need some pro-level pickups, but you don’t want to do a big upgrade project, Classic Bass pickups are a great choice. They are passive and will work with your current electronics in most basses.

There are different versions for neck (Bass, -B) and bridge (Treble, -T) so they balance well in your bass.

WHAT IS THE TONE OF THE BARTOLINI CLASSIC BASS SOAPBAR PICKUPS?

Bartolini fans know Bartolinis for their tight sound and strong low mid range. These pickups are no exception. The Classic Bass Series from Bartolini has a nice even balance. These pickups have more open highs than traditional (Original Series) Bartolinis. The low end is not sacrificed at all and sounds deep while retaining tightness.

Put on a good set of headphones and check out the audio demo below to hear it for yourself.

As always, keep in mind that these are generalizations. Your experience could be different depending on many factors.

Transformed my Warwick Streamer Standard—Incredible tone and versatility!

I bought these Bartolini pickups as an upgrade for my Warwick Streamer Standard. Along with the pickup swap, I converted the bass to a fully passive setup using a standard 2-Volume / 2-Tone configuration, combined with the 3-way toggle wiring (Inner Single-Coil / Series Hum-Canceling / Outer Single-Coil) from the official Bartolini diagram.

This modification has completely transformed my bass. The pickups sound beautiful on their own, and when combined with this specific wiring, they provide endless tonal variety. Additionally, the string-to-string and neck-position output is incredibly balanced; no matter where I play on the fretboard, the volume remains completely even with no harsh peaks or dead spots. I highly recommend them!

A few important warnings for anyone doing this specific upgrade on a Warwick Streamer Standard:

1. Watch the pickup springs: The stock MEC pickups have a completely flat bottom with no exposed wires. However, the Bartolinis have wires routed along the bottom of the housing. You need to be careful with your pickup spring placement during installation to ensure they don't press directly against or pinch these wires.
2. Pickup cavity fit: If you are looking for a flawless, tight aesthetic fit, be aware that the corner radius on the Bartolinis doesn't perfectly match the stock MEC pickups or the body cavities. It still looks perfectly fine to me and isn't a dealbreaker, but it's worth noting. On the plus side, the mounting screw holes line up perfectly.

Bartolini humbuckers

Put these in a Fernandes FAB-170 and they absolutely sing! Added the single coil/single hum/parallel hum and there are huge tonal differences between each position. Not sure I would use all but I have them in now. These guys, Fat Bass Tone, totally hooked me up. No one else had anything like these.
