The cable is shielded as well. b-axis Jazz Bass¼ pickups are dual-inline hum-cancelling design for use in professional venues and studios. They are sweat-proof and won’t make nasty noises if you touch them.

b-axis pickups are super punchy and bright, but also warm. They have outstanding articulation, attack, and harmonic response. Musicians who play jazz, rock, country, gospel, and hip-hop are already finding their voice in b-axis pickups.

WHAT IS THE TONE OF THE BARTOLINI B-AXIS JAZZ BASSÂź PICKUPS?

These pickups sport a more percussive sound than most J bass pickups. They are bigger sounding, with a bridge pickup that has more output and is quite good sounding on its own. Sonically, quite special and unique.

Put on a good set of headphones and check out the audio demo below to hear it for yourself.

As always, keep in mind that these are generalizations. Your experience could be different depending on many factors.

Perfect all rounder

I was never truly happy with the tone of my Fender Player Plus with the Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups. The main issue is the Noiseless pickups aren't fully noiseless. The other issue was the overly boomy lows and brittle treble. The B-Axis address all of those issues. Perfect string to string balance. Fully grounded poll pieces if you dig deep and brush up against the pickup and there's no hiss when letting off the strings. The tone is slightly more mid range forward on the B-Axis, but the tone is much richer and sweeter. The slightly overwound bridge pickup really adds versatility and really nice punch when solo'd. Dynamics really come through these. Another plus was the slightly reduced weight over the stacked coil Fender Noiseless pickups. Just what I needed to fix my dull and unbalanced sounding bass. Overall you can't go wrong with these. They sound great from vintage Zep to Rage against the Machine.

New Tone New Life

Just installed the Bartolini J axis pickups in my 1979 jazz bass. I wired them to and Audere preamp. This bass sounds like a boutique instrument. The tone and flexibility is transparent and incredible. Best upgrade ever. Thanks Fat Bass Tone you saved that bass from the parts bin.
