This preamp is no joke...

I'm a huge fan of the Trickfish/Mike Pope Flexcore and have it installed in a number of my basses. Very satisfied by it, but I kept hearing great things about the Uni and decided to give it a shot...

Installing it into my Ibanez ATK810 was a bit like putting together a jigsaw puzzle, but everything fit easily enough. Once I plugged it up to test and play, I was immediately impressed. But then I started to fine tune all of the dials...this preamp is beyond good. I believe that with this level of control over the frequency points would be able to bring out the best of whatever bass and pickups you have. I would dare say that I like it better than the Flexcore, but I still prefer 4 bands over 3.

Warwick Thumb 4 Uni-Pre 5 Upgrade

I replaced the 2-band EQ with the John East Uni-Pre 5 in my 2000 Warwick Thumb 4 bass. I also installed a dual 9v battery tray to utilize 18v on the Uni-Pre. The Uni-Pre 5 works well by adding a sweepable midrange EQ. This along with the adjustable settings on the Uni-Pre 5 give a very customize EQ overall and definitely improved the Warwick Thumb 4 sound. Fat Bass Tone shipped the item quick, as always.

Absolutely a great preamp

I bought this preamp about two months ago + 18v battery holder, didn't have to drill extra holes in my bass to fit batteries cause the this preamp takes less space, now my bass looks like a real sleeper

Great preamp

After many years of waiting for the right opportunity, I finally got an East preamp and it does not disappoint. Everything I want in a preamp. Very happy with it.
