The DELANO PC series offers a range of different transducer designs in the familiar Precision Bass® pickup shape. They are direct retrofit units and can be installed in any electric bass that is outfitted with a P-bass® style pickup cavity.
Since its invention in 1957, the split coil P-Bass® pickup is the proven industry standard of electric bass transducers. Its basic design was not substantially altered visually, but tone-wise, the changes are definitely audible.
The PC 4 AL is Delano's tribute to lovers of classy vintage P-bass® tone. They carefully morphed the great "oomph" and greasy swamp bottom late 50ies to early 60ies pickups are famous for, into the grinding wire attitude of ´68 to´73 examples and then added a slight DELANO twist to enhance dynamics and articulation. From groove to grind, old school to nu, the PC 4 AL delivers with authority.

OPEN BOX DEMO ITEM: There is one unit which was opened and installed exclusively for the purpose of making demo videos. This pickup was installed for less than thirty minutes here at the Fat Bass Tone shop. This is not a “Returned Pickup”.

The PC 4 AL is Delano’s offering in the vintage-voiced/classic P bass pickup class. The lows are nice, top end is round. Would be an excellent compliment to a bass that is on the brighter side. Sits particularly well in the soul track that you can hear below.
