The Delano PMVC 5 FE/M2 brings Delano's modern, high-definition approach to the classic split-coil P Bass® format for 5-string bass. Five substantial 9.5 mm pole pieces capture the strings with a tight, extremely fast response while the split-coil humbucking construction keeps noise under control.
Tonally, Delano describes the PMVC 5 FE/M2 as delivering meaty, full-range 5-string bass tone with tight, lightning-fast transients and exceptional precision. It's equally at home as a standalone P-style pickup or paired with another pickup, and Delano specifically recommends it for drop-tuned 5-string basses.
The pickup is available with either a Black or White cover. Both versions use the same PMVC 5 FE/M2 construction and specifications.
The PMVC 5 FE/M2 uses a two-piece split-coil layout specifically designed for five strings. The pickup shell with three pole pieces covers the lower strings — normally B, E and A — while the second section covers the upper D and G strings.
This split-coil construction provides hum-cancelling operation while retaining the familiar two-piece P Bass® pickup format. Delano also recommends the PMVC 5 FE/M2 as a match for its MC 5 FE MM-style® bridge pickup.
