GHS Precision Flats are stainless steel flatwound bass strings built for players who want a deep, controlled fundamental, smooth feel, and the classic character associated with vintage flatwounds. Stainless steel ribbon wire is wound over a hex core and polished to a smooth finish, giving Precision Flats their distinctive combination of strong low end and restrained top end.
Compared with a typical roundwound, Precision Flats put less emphasis on upper-frequency brightness and string noise and more emphasis on a deep, percussive fundamental. GHS specifically positions them for players who want to sit low in the mix and anchor the groove, with four sets stocked here covering light through heavier 4-string gauges plus a 5-string 45-126 option.
