GHS PRESSUREWOUND BASS STRINGS

GHS Pressurewound bass strings are designed for players who like the articulation and dynamics associated with roundwound strings but want a smoother feel with less finger noise. GHS starts with a hex core and slightly flattens its nickel-iron Alloy 52™ wrap wire as the string is wound.

That rollerwound construction gives Pressurewounds a distinctive middle ground: deep tone with punch and dynamics, an articulate attack, and a smoother surface than a conventional roundwound. GHS also specifically recommends Pressurewounds for fretless players looking to retain the characteristic "mwah" of a fretless bass while going easier on the fingerboard.

PRESSUREWOUND TONE & FEEL

Deep & Articulate: GHS voices Pressurewounds for a deep fundamental while retaining punch, dynamics, and articulation.

Smoother Feel: The nickel-iron wrap is slightly flattened during winding, creating the slicker surface that distinguishes Pressurewounds from conventional roundwounds.

Reduced Finger Noise: The rollerwound surface is designed to reduce the finger noise associated with traditional roundwound strings.

Fretless Friendly: GHS specifically highlights Pressurewounds for fretless bass, where their smoother surface retains the instrument's characteristic "mwah" while being easier on the fingerboard.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SET

ML7200 - 4 String, Medium Light, 37.25" Winding, 44-102:
.044, .058, .080, .102
The lighter of the two 4-string Pressurewound sets offered here, with lighter D, A, and E strings than the M7200.

M7200 - 4 String, Medium, 37.25" Winding, 44-106:
.044, .062, .084, .106
The medium 4-string set, retaining the same .044 G while moving to heavier .062, .084, and .106 gauges on the lower strings.

M7200-5 - 5 String, Medium, 37.25" Winding, 44-128:
.044, .062, .084, .106, .128
The 5-string Pressurewound set, using the same G-through-E gauges as M7200 and adding a .128 low B.
