Put this preamp in a new short scale bass build for my son, paired with a Nordstrand MM 4.2 pickup. He wanted a bass which feels like a Mustang but sounds like a Stingray. We recon it nails the tone ( with just a little short scale thump thrown in too). FBT we’re great to deal with and delivery was super fast. Very happy !

The Ray 5 on it's own is a solid bass that plays better than its price point. The 2 band preamp from Nordstrand helped an already solid bass sound even better. Would absolutely purchase again.

Received the 2 band/2 pickup Nordstrand bass pre-wired preamp and installed on a fairly inexpensive ESP bass. Fast shipping as always plus quick replies from Fat Bass Tone on questions regarding this preamp. I chose this preamp because of the internal trim pot which allowed a bit hotter signal from the lower output pickups in this bass. I also preferred the treble cut/boost frequency at 4K rather than higher frequencies of most other preamps. For me, it’s simply a more functional tonal area to adjust on bass. Installation was simple and quick and am very satisfied with everything. Zero issues ordering from these guys. Will continue for all my bass electronic and hardware needs.

I installed the Nordstrand 2 band 3 knob preamp into my Sterling Sub 5 with a Bartolini pickup. It's much more usable than the stock preamp. The push-pull to turn off of the preamp is nice to have as a backup in case the battery dies. I love how the treble knob frequency can be adjusted and I prefer it in the lower position. The amount of EQ adjustment is very usable. I can get everything from Motown to modern slap.

After installing the Norstrand Audio 2 Band Bass Preamp in my custom made bass I have even output from all 4 strings on my recordings for the first time and the great tone is a bonus.
